Setting up email with your HostDango.com hosting account

Creating an email account is one of the most basic, yet most essential functions of your cPanel account. One of the most common ways you’ll communicate with others is via email. If you don’t have your email account up and configured properly, chances are you’re going to have a problem with your communications flow. Here I’ll show you that, with just a few clicks, you can have your personal email account set up and receiving email.

Step 1 is to log into cPanel. This is accomplished by going to http://yourdomain.com/cpanel (or http://yourdomain.com:2082). Once you’ve entered in your login ID and password, you’re ready to start setting up your email account.

Step 2 is to select “Add / Remove E-mail Account(s)”. See the image below.

Step 3 is to enter in the new account information. You’ll need to set a few things.

  • Login ID
  • Domain (if you have multiple domains / sub domains)
  • Password
  • Password (repeated)

If you don’t have a password that you’d like to use and would like the system to set a secure password for you, you can click “Password Generator” and the system will set a password for you.

From there, you’re ready to click “Create Account”!  Future email topics include logging into your webmail email account and the options you have for selecting which webmail client fits you best as well as configuring Microsoft Outlook to work with your POP email address.
